This is a personal site — my photographs and notes. It sells nothing, runs no ads and has no accounts to sign up for. This page says plainly what happens when you open it.
No cookies
This site stores nothing in your browser. No cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting, no consent banner to click away — there is nothing to consent to. You can check it yourself in your browser's developer tools.
What is measured
I count page views with Umami, which runs on my own server and hands your visit to nobody. It stores nothing in your browser, so it cannot join today's visit to your last one, and it records no personal data: the page you opened, the site that linked you here, and a rough country, screen size and browser. Nothing that identifies you.
Your IP address reaches my server the way it reaches any site you open. It is used to work out an approximate country and then discarded — it is never stored alongside the visit.
Who else sees your visit
- Nobody, for the analytics — the counter described above runs on my own server. No third party is involved.
- CARTO and OpenStreetMap — the map tiles. Only on pages that show a map, and only once it loads; your IP reaches their servers the way it reaches any site you open.
- The hosting server — like every web server, it keeps short-lived access logs so that it can be operated and defended.
Fonts and images are served from this domain, not from a third party. There are no social media widgets, no embedded trackers, no advertising network.
If you write to me
Email sent to hi@matejsamec.cz lands in a mailbox I control and stays there until it is no longer useful. I use it to reply to you and nothing else — no newsletter, no list, and it goes to nobody.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to it being processed at all. Write to hi@matejsamec.cz and I will sort it out. If I do not, you can complain to the Czech data protection authority, the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.
You can also stop the analytics at the source: any tracker blocker, or your browser's Do Not Track setting, removes it without breaking the site.
